Electric Vehicles Made Easy
Electric Vehicles Made Easy supports Cumbrians transitioning to electric vehicles by addressing challenges and concerns, providing crucial information and guidance.
What we are doing
CAfS is the lead partner of Zero Carbon Cumbria, a partnership which has an ambition to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2037. A report commissioned by the partnership estimates that emissions from land-based transport need to be reduced by 93% by 2037. One of the ways we can work towards this target is by accelerating the take up of electric vehicles, but we know that there are challenges and comcerns around the information on the comparative new technology of EVs, including things like financial savings, range, charge points, infrastructure, and more.
To support individuals and communities across Cumbria in the transition to Electric Vehicles, we are running a new project Electric Vehicles Made Easy. We held a pilot event in Penrith, earlier this year, and have a free webinar scheduled for October 21 2024.
Have your say – take the survey
To help us understand what support potential EV drivers need, the questions they have and the challenges they need to overcome, we have developed a survey which includes a section about the vehicles in your household, any experience you may have of EVs, any challenges you perceive around switching to electric and what support you would value at a local level.
- We are working with several different stakeholders to support Cumbria in the transition to EV, including Electricity North West, the two local authorities for Cumbria (Westmorland & Furness, and Cumberland) and www.chargemystreet.co.uk (a community benefit society that installs and operates community EV charge points, raising money through community shares).
- Please help us to help you by answering this short set of questions. It will take just a few minutes. As an added incentive, we’ll put all respondents into a prize draw to win a £50 voucher for Basecamp North Lakes.
