There's a lot you can do to tackle climate change - without even leaving your house!
Here are just a few actions you could take to join in with global efforts to stop damaging climate change. You can even do most of them from the comfort of your own home!
Climate confusion?
IPCC, COP, BEIS… the main players in tackling climate change around the world can be an alphabet soup of confusion!
Add your voice
Look out for campaigns by organisations like Possible (formerly 10:10 Climate Action), Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and 350.
Follow them on social media and share their posts to help spread the word about their campaigns.
Add your name to their climate change petitions and encourage your friends to do the same.
Divest
Vote with your wallet and move your investments away from fossil fuels. If you have a pension pot or other investments, check if your funds are invested in fossil fuel companies. If they are, ask your provider about options that don’t include shares in these industries or move your investments to other providers.
This guide by The Guardian is a good introduction to divestment – what it means and how to go about it.
