    The Alston Moor Greenprint gets under way.

    • Community planning begins in earnest. Working partnership formed between Alston Moor Partnership (AMP) & Alston Moor Greenprint project
    • Information exchanged with Alston Moor Parish Council and working group set up to develop a future Neighbourhood Plan, based on evidence collected through the Greenprint and community planning process
    • Plan of action developed to ensure that the community plan is linked to the Greenprint process and that all Greenprint outcomes will be embedded into the community plan
    • Continued input into community transport meetings, community bus and electric bike network
    • Most importantly, we developed a working ethos – a bottom-up approach to consultation and engagement. Inclusive, not judgemental or pre-emptive. An accessible, diverse approach to involve as many people as possible

    Develop the annual independent evaluation of the Greenprint project against “Zero Carbon Britain”, a document on climate change and community-led solutions developed at the Centre for Alternative Technology

    AMCE research starts

    AMCE tender brief developed to create a current baseline of energy usage and renewable energy deployment on Alston Moor and to investigate the feasibility of solar PV deployment at three sites: the high school, Bonds Factory and High Mill (a central heritage development site in Alston). 2400 delivered by hand to homes and businesses across Alston Moor and available online.

    Supported AMP in their application for community planning support funding.

    Burneside twinning

    Forged links with Burneside and developed informal twinning. Talk in Alston by member of Burneside Vision and Neighbourhood Plan working group.

    AMCE launches

    Alston Moor Community Energy (AMCE) has its official launch, with a screening of the film This Changes Everything, and a discussion after.

    A clear marketing strategy for the project is agreed, run jointly by CAfS, AMP and AMCE.

    AMCE press release initiates relationship with the Cumberland & Westmorland Herald and Hexham Courant.
