Check out the benefits of being a volunteer Climate Champion in Copeland! You'll get our accredited Climate & Carbon Literacy course for free, full support and then with your new-found knowledge you'll organise events - like discussion groups, film nights, quizzes, reading groups - in your area to share your knowledge and enthusiasm with others. Being a Climate Champ can give you an entry route into a green career, or help embed climate change into the agenda of your local parish council.

Our work with farmers in Cumbria continues as we look for ways we can support the agricultural sector to reduce it’s carbon footprint.  Our next project is calling on upland farmers to come forward for a study exploring land use issues led by Dr Peter Gittins, an upland farmer from the University of Leeds. 

The study will get the views of upland beef and sheep farmers on approaches towards ELMs, net zero, and any barriers they may be facing. 

Businesses in Allerdale and Copeland can benefit from a wide range of fully funded business support from our friends at Cumbria Chamber. This support also includes low carbon audits!

Later this month our Solar Made Easy project launches in  Penrith and surrounding villages on Monday 26 May. And in June, we'll be in Ulverston at the Another Shine Fest The intro events offer expert advice, from our team and prospective installers. 

At our event for Greysouthen, Eaglesfield, Bridgefoot and Little Clifton residents, 17 households registering to take part in the scheme!

Join Cumbria Sustainability Network in Staveley on 25 May to build on the vision for the network; and hear about SENS local projects.

Save the date for this year's Youth Climate Summit on 6 July in Kendal. We're looking for schools to bring students aged 10+.

We're recruiting an Emissions Reduction Project Manager for the Zero Carbon Cumbria Partnership. The successful candidate will ensure the Zero Carbon Cumbria Sector Groups develop their Emissions Reduction Action Plans by the end of November this year and collate these into a decarbonisation plan for Cumbria by March next year.
