To help prepare communities for emergencies like the ‘Beast from the East’ and Storm Desmond, CAfS, ACTion with Communities in Cumbria and Cumbria CVS, came together along with wider partners to develop the resilience of Cumbrian communities and local third sector organisations.

The programme has become broader than emergency planning, and increasingly focused on neighbourliness, strengthening community networks and building social capital.

We are delighted to share this learning with you by giving an overview of the resources created and where to access them.

The morning will be a strategic overview of what the project has achieved and its legacy. There will be a Q&A session at the end, if you have a question you would like answered, please send this through to Laura Rutter ([email protected])

A light lunch to re-fuel everyone for the afternoon workshops and discussions by the partners on this project. We ask that people book their spots when they arrive and sign in at reception, to help manage numbers on the day.

We are now able to also offer a twilight session from 5 until 7pm, showcasing the work and stories of community groups who have been active in Cumbria during the programme.

Due to a change of venue, we will now have limited capacity for exhibition stalls.
