Find out more about farm carbon audits and, if you already have one, how to make the most of it

Farm carbon audits measure the carbon footprint of a farm and make recommendations on ways of reducing emissions and improving carbon storage. Implementation of audit findings can help save you money, lower your costs, improve technical performance and increase efficiency on the farm. This free webinar will give you the opportunity to ask questions from experts who deliver farm carbon audits and farmers who have gone through the carbon auditing process on their farm.

Marcus Fox, an independent Agricultural Advisor from SRUC will:

  • Introduce the carbon audit and the types of information gathered
  • Outline a selection of carbon audits you can use, with pros and cons
  • Tell you the benefits of completing a carbon audit
  • Outline what a carbon audit can tell you about your farm

The webinar will include short talks from Cumbrian livestock farmers who will share their experience of completing a carbon audit, their choice of carbon calculator and how they plan to implement the audit recommendations to reduce emissions and/or increase sequestration. This will include Lake District hill farm examples, an update on recent research by the Foundation for Common Land into carbon auditing on commons, and initial findings of a study being undertaken by Kinniside Commoners into soil carbon storage in upland habitats.
