Solar Made Easy in the Lakes

With the country plunged into an energy crisis, it couldn’t be a better time to think about investing in your own renewable energy supply.

We’ve been working closely with Ambleside Action for a Future to develop a project to help households and small businesses take the leap and install solar photovoltaic panels on their rooftops.

We know that a major barrier to investing in solar is the uncertainty of where to start and who to trust. So, we’re trying to make it easier for you. With the help of Carbon Coop, we have been short-listing local solar panel installers so that we can find a preferred partner who we would be happy to introduce you to.

This webinar will explain the project and how you can take advantage of it, as well as providing information about solar PV and answering any questions you may have.

Whilst initiated in Ambleside, the project is open across Central and South Lakes. It may also be of interest to groups in other areas who may wish to develop a similar project.

We will be hearing from:

  • Chris Hodgson from Ambleside Action for a Future, the group which has been the driving force behind this project, who will talk about the project beginnings and our interactive solar PV webmap of Ambleside

  • Matt Fawcett from Carbon Coop, who will explain how we are finding our preferred installer and everything you need to know about having a solar PV system in your home.

  • Mike Green from Ambleside Action for a Future, who closely monitors the performance of his own system in Ambleside and has researched the amount of PV there is already in Ambleside

  • Molly Hogg from Cumbria Action for Sustainability, who will talk about next steps and how you can get involved.”
