Do you want to get your facts straight about the latest climate science and what we can all do in our homes, our communities and at work to restore the balance?
This inspiring, informative and interactive short session will take you concisely through an overview of the science of climate change, causes, impacts (globally and locally) and what we can do about it. It also covers what is happening locally, and how to get involved.
The session presents you with a clear framework for understanding the climate emergency, how soon we need to act, the scale of that action, and what practical part individuals in Cumbria can play in the bigger picture.
You will leave this session more confident in your knowledge, better able to articulate what needs to be done, and with an increased sense of your ability to be part of that change, on an individual, communal and organisational level.
The session is delivered by expert trainers from Cumbria Action for Sustainability (CAfS). CAfS Co-Chair the Zero Carbon Cumbria Partnership and run Cumbria’s carbon and climate literacy training programme. Their certified carbon literate trainers bring decades of practical emission-reduction expertise, in-depth knowledge of the local area, as well as significant training experience.
This is a time-efficient option for essential, interactive briefing on climate science and solutions for Cumbria but we recommend that anyone wishing to gain more in-depth knowledge and discuss solutions more fully should instead book onto our fully comprehensive, accredited Climate and Carbon Literacy Course. This seven-hour course (taken over two days) leads to delegates becoming certified as Carbon Literate and can be booked here.
