This co
urse\, which runs over 3 evenings\, is especially
for tradespeople involved in renovating existing b
uildings\, and householders with the same technica
l knowledge as a tradesperson.

chance to update your existing knowledge and learn
about building techniques and materials used to m
ake properties more energy efficient and resilient
to extreme weather like flooding.

course is CPD accredited.

ourse covers
\n \n This course will refresh
and add to your knowledge on refurbishing and imp
roving existing buildings\, to make them more sust
ainable\, weather resilient\, and energy efficient
.
\n \n It covers domestic and non-domestic
buildings\, with more detail on traditionally-bui
lt homes (e.g. solid-wall houses built before 1920
).
\n \n The course will help you to make de
cisions about materials to use for different types
of properties\, depending on the way they were bu
ilt and their location.

rly important to choose the right types of insulat
ion\, render and pointing\, so that your customers
can enjoy warm\, damp-free homes.

les of buildings that have been renovated for ener
gy efficiency here in Cumbria. You’ll come away wi
th lots of practical guidance and information abou
t where to get help from other professionals\, inc
luding energy audits of a building to guide the wo
rks you do.

\n \n This course is taught at a similar level to A lev
el (known as Level 3).

n This course consists of 3 evening sessions\,
on 12th & 26th Feb and 4th March (note no
session on 19th Feb as this is half-term
week). Each session runs from 6:45pm to 8:45pm. De
legates should attend all 3 sessions in order to s
uccessfully complete the course.
