Webinar: Funding & resourcing decarbonisation
A recent project between us here at Futureproof Cumbria and the University of Cumbria for Zero Carbon Cumbria has explored four of the most significant barriers to accelerating decarbonisation and identified practical steps that could help unblock them and enable scalable, long-term solutions. Using Jun Han and Sonal Shah’s (2020) Ecosystem of Scaling Social Impact framework, four briefing papers have been developed which each focus on a different dimension of the challenge: influencing policy and practice, improving data and evaluation, strengthening civil society action, and securing the funding and resources required for sustained progress.
The fourth and last webinar in the series explores how current policy, practice and limited access to information are restricting investment in low carbon action in Cumbria - and how better alignment with local priorities like health, economic growth and community wellbeing could unlock far greater value. You can read the relevant paper here.
We’ll introduce the paper’s key recommendations and take a closer look at innovative funding models that can drive a fair transition. You’ll hear practical examples of how others are scaling projects, attracting investment, and building stronger cross-sector collaboration.
Speakers include: Lake District Foundation and Lake District Invest.
