An evening of thought-provoking climate-focussed conversation with the bestselling author, Mike Berners-Lee, at his first local event since the publication of his new book, ‘A Climate of Truth’.

A Climate of Truth - an evening with Mike Berners-Lee

This fundraising event for CAfS is an exciting opportunity to hear from Mike Berners-Lee at his first local event since the publication of his new book, A Climate of Truth

Described by critics as ‘An astonishing, essential and radical book' (Baroness Rosie Boycott), A Climate of Truth explores why, despite developments in technology and most people's desire for greater action on the climate crisis, our global emissions are worse than ever.

In the search for answers that have been so elusive to date, Mike Berners-Lee looks at the challenge from new angles. A Climate of Truth  spells out why, if humanity is to thrive in the decades ahead, the most critical step is to raise standards of honesty in our politics, our media, and our businesses.

Anyone asking, ‘How can I have impact, when everything so far has seemed so futile?’ will find inspiration in this evening event with Mike and his practical and essential new book.

The event will include a Q&A with Mike led by Karen Mitchell, CEO of Cumbria Action for Sustainability and Co-Chair of the Zero Carbon Cumbria Partnership, so we encourage you to bring your questions with you.

Copies of A Climate of Truth will be available to purchase at a discounted rate on the night and all proceeds raised from ticket sales plus profits from book sales will be donated to CAfS to help fund our local climate action work.
