Low-Carbon Lunch and Learn: Cutting Costs, Waste and Carbon in your Business

This lunch and learn session will help you make your food or tourism business more sustainable to attract customers and staff, and cut your energy bills and save money in high energy use kitchens. It will also cover the new food waste regulations which come into effect in March 2025

Hear from industry professionals including ex-chef, and Low Carbon Food expert, Nick Lancaster and the team at the Yan. Cumbria Tourism's Gemma Procter will advise on the new food waste regulations and ways you can reduce your food waste, and CBEN will show you their top energy savings tips and examples of how you could cut your energy bills. It’s also an opportunity to network with like-minded businesses.

Wherever you are on your journey towards sustainability - whether you are considering your first step towards cutting your bills and carbon footprint, or you have been working on your goals for years and want to share your experience with others, and ask for specific advice - this event is for you.

The team at the Yan will be serving a delicious lunch, and there will be plenty of opportunities to meet and share experiences and challenges with other businesses in the area, and access advice from our experts. We will also be touring The Yan to hear how they are progressing with their sustainable journey.

This event is for all Small to Medium Enterprises, and Social Enterprises (including charities with a paid member of staff) in the Westmorland & Furness area, or with significant activity within the W&F area.
