Free Webinar | Unpacked: Reducing Food Waste at Home
The average family could save £83 per month - nearly £1,000 per year! - by saving food from going in the bin.
In this webinar Barbara Herridge, Waste Service Manager and Chris Dove, Waste Reduction Officer for Westmorland and Furness and Cumberland Councils will unpack this statistic further so you know what you can start doing differently. They will outline ways you can reduce the amount of food wasted, which will reduce the amount of money you spend. Everyone will learn something new about reducing wasting food!
There will be three interactive sections in the webinar, where we will look at:
- How you can shop better; including understanding best before and use by dates.
- How to ensure you don’t have any leftovers when you are cooking. Do you know what food you use a 1p piece to measure to get the right amount to cook?
- Ways to use up leftovers. We will share some delicious recipes that the whole family will love.
We will unpack issues such as what you can freeze, how much food to cook and the best way to store your ingredients so they stay fresher for longer.
