This workshop is open to members and associates of the Cumbria Sustainability Network who are looking to take the next step in formalising their organisation with a constitution, management committee and bank account.  It will be led by Bridget Johns from Cumbria CVS and Daniel Heery from Cumbria Social Enterprise Partnership / Cybermoor, who will be able to answer questions and discuss the pros and cons of becoming a legally constituted group. 

The workshop will cover:

• An outline of options for groups’ legal status e.g. small charity, CIO, CIC etc. and will mention other alternatives (e.g. Community Benefit Society) for specific purposes e.g community energy schemes
• A brief overview of what being a Trustee / Director involves – legal obligations, different roles, need for record keeping and meeting in line with constitutional rules
• Organising an inaugural meeting to officially establish your new group
• Help and support available (Through Helen at the Cumbria Sustainability Network, CVS, and the SEP, which can offer further consultancy support for social enterprises to get registered).

Venue - This event will be held via Zoom. Once you register, you'll receive a link to join the event. 

Recording - We may record the event to share online afterwards. By taking part in this event, you accept that your name/image/voice may appear in the recording. Attendees' video feeds won't necessarily be on screen at any point during the webinar.
