Cold to Cosy Homes Cumbria Energy Champions training

Cold to Cosy Homes Energy Champions are essential to raise awareness and extend our reach and support to households in Cumbria. Every day our Cold to Cosy Homes Cumbria service is helping local householders save money and stay warm.   

With colder weather and the increasing costs of fuel we have ambitious targets to help even more households in 2023.  

To help us reach as many households as possible, we are expanding our team of Cold to Cosy Homes Energy Champions.  

As a champion you will be able to share information and signpost people to this free service which offers; clear advice and practical help, including free draught proofing and energy saving equipment, LED bulbs, advice on energy tariffs, and switching, and referrals for further improvements.  

The Cold to Cosy Homes Energy Champions training will give you a thorough understanding of the service, how to refer clients and what they can expect. You will be able to fully explain the service to:  

· Frontline workers who help and care for others through their work, either in people’s homes or in the community.  

· Volunteers in your local community who attend events and could help their neighbours.   

· Friends and relatives, whose homes are cold.  

and help them to access all the free support available.  

You don’t need to be an energy expert and prior knowledge is not required.  

Please join us on this training course as we hope you’ll become part of our network of Cold to Cosy Homes Energy Champions, dedicated to helping those people that need this free essential service.   

We will cover: 
· What the Cold to Cosy Homes service offers to householders 
· Who is eligible for the service 
· How to refer someone by phone, email or online 
· How to help someone get an advice call booked in or support someone by being present (for those who need assistance) 
· Other ways for you to help people to access this support 
After the session, you will have all the information you need to spread the word about this fantastic free service and make sure the people you support can benefit from it.

Cost - This event is free to attend. 

Venue - This event will be held via Zoom. Once you register, you will receive a link to join the event.  

Recording - We may record the event to share online afterwards. By taking part in this event, you accept that your name/image/voice may appear in the recording. You can opt not to activate your webcam and microphone, and you can change how your name is displayed in the list of participants. Attendees' video feeds won't necessarily be on screen at any point during the webinar.
