Visit at any time throughout the day to see the new @155 Food Hub and chat about their exciting plans.
The idea behind the new hub, at 155 Stricklandgate, is to save food that would otherwise go to waste and make it available to charities and those who need it in Kendal. The hub will collect, store and distribute food from local shops, cafés and supermarkets.
It builds on food re-distribution that’s already happening in Kendal and is an offshoot of the Kendal People’s Café. Both are run by South Lakes Action on Climate Change.
This is the formal opening event for the hub, and refreshments will be available all day.
No need to book. Just drop in!
Location & travel:
155 Stricklandgate is the old 'Connections' building. It’s on the corner of Stricklandgate and Busher Walk in Kendal, near County Hall on the road towards Windermere.
It’s about three minutes' walk from the bus station, and is also on the main bus route to Windermere.
There is parking nearby in the car park at the side of the building near the charge points, or use the Busher Walk car park.
This event is part of the Cumbria Green Build & Sustainable Living Festival 2019. Thank you to our headline sponsor:
