We can only meet the challenge of reducing carbon emissions if every part of our community is working together. That is the purpose of creating this summit, to help strengthen the culture of partnership and effectiveness of collaborative action in Cumbria.
The summit is organised and hosted by the Zero Carbon Cumbria Partnership (ZCCP). ZCCP is a cross-sector initiative funded by the National Lottery. We have been working since March 2023 on a series of emission reduction plans that are designed to get Cumbria to net zero by 2037. These plans have been created by cross-sector groups with specialist knowledge and interest in transport, land use & agriculture, buildings and consumption & waste.
The summit is designed to discuss how we can work together and what actions are practical and necessary to move to net zero at the speed and scale required by a rapidly warming planet.
