Our champions complete their training

Fourteen people from across Cumbria are now trained as carbon literate climate champions. They’re getting ready to host events in their communities to highlight the crucial need for all of us to take urgent action on the climate emergency – and to show how we can do it. CAfS climate champions will have the flexibility to offer talks to interest groups of all sorts, including parish councils, U3A groups, Women’s Institutes and more. Series of free online courses on home renovations launched

If you're thinking about renovating your home to make it warmer and reduce your energy bills, snap up a free place on our new series of online courses.   We'll take you through all the main things to consider - from planning your retrofit through to insulation, airtightness and ventilation. Great uptake of carbon literacy courses

This year CAfS launched a new programme of climate training which has been very successful. CAfS’ climate and carbon literacy training courses have huge levels of take up and very positive feedback in terms of improved knowledge and also attendees feeling more motivated and empowered to take action. Carbon literacy trials prove successful

Spreading awareness about the causes of and solutions to the climate crisis is a critical first step if we're to empower Cumbrians to play a role in tackling it, and that's what we hope to achieve with a new training course called carbon literacy.
